Operating Conditions

Operating Duty: Suitable for continuous S1 operation when the selected fan operates within its specified airflow, static pressure, temperature, and motor loading limits.

Thermal Exposure: Fans installed below the cooling conveyor are primarily exposed to radiant heat from hot wire rod coils rather than direct contact with the material.

Inlet Air Temperature: Standard configurations are designed for mill-ambient air. Elevated-temperature configurations are available for systems with hot-air recirculation, subject to the required inlet-air temperature being confirmed during fan selection.

Fan Construction

Fan Casing: Q235B or Q355B welded steel plate, selected according to structural and operating requirements.

Fan Impeller: Carbon steel or alloy steel selected according to fan diameter, rotational speed, and mechanical stress requirements. Dynamic balancing is performed before assembly.

Drive Shaft: 45# or 42CrMo steel selected according to transmitted torque, rotational speed, and shaft loading.

Bearing Unit: Heavy-duty bearings with labyrinth seals and shaft deflectors help limit the ingress of fine iron-oxide scale dust. Bearing lubrication and maintenance intervals are specified according to the selected bearing arrangement and operating conditions.

Protective Coating: Industrial anti-corrosion primer and heat-resistant topcoats protect casing and structural steel surfaces.

Motor, VFD & Airflow Control

Drive Arrangement: Direct drive connects the impeller directly to the motor shaft, eliminating belt and pulley components and their associated maintenance requirements.

Motor Specification: Enclosed squirrel-cage AC motor, typically TEFC, with IP55 or higher protection. Motor efficiency class, insulation class, and mounting arrangement can be specified according to project requirements.

Speed Regulation via VFD: VFD-compatible for airflow adjustment across different cooling zones. The allowable speed range is determined by the fan performance curve, motor thermal limits, and system resistance.

Electrical System Adaptability: Windings, junction box positions, and insulation classes can be specified to meet target voltage (e.g., 380V, 415V, 440V, 660V) and frequency (50 Hz / 60 Hz) requirements.

Cooling Line Integration

Plenum Connection: Fan outlets connect to under-conveyor air distribution plenums to deliver cooling air upward through the roller conveyor. Outlet flange dimensions can be customized to match the plenum interface.

Multi-Fan Configuration: Multiple fans can be assigned to individual cooling zones, with airflow and fan speed selected according to the required cooling profile from the laying head to downstream zones.

Conveyor Layout Alignment: Flange dimensions, bolt-hole patterns, mounting feet, shaft orientation, and overall fan height can be customized to match conveyor structures or existing foundations.

Retrofit & Replacement Support: Mounting interfaces and outer casing dimensions can be engineered to fit existing fan footprints during cooling line upgrades or replacements.

Installation & Alignment: Fan mounting dimensions, shaft orientation, flange interfaces, and foundation requirements are confirmed against the cooling-conveyor layout before fabrication.

FAQ

Q: What data is needed for an accurate quotation?

A: Provide the required airflow and static pressure for each cooling zone, inlet-air temperature, hot-air recirculation conditions, voltage/frequency, and mounting-interface dimensions. Preliminary quotations are typically provided within 3–5 working days.

Q: Can you supply matched fans for multiple cooling zones with different airflow requirements?

A: Yes. We can select fans for different cooling zones according to their required airflow, static pressure, and operating conditions.

Q: Can you supply ABB, Siemens, WEG, or other specified motor brands?

A: Yes. Alternate brands are available at additional cost and may extend lead time. Confirm the preferred brand during quotation.

Q: Are factory performance, vibration, and run-in tests available before shipment?

A: Yes. Factory inspection can include running tests, vibration checks, motor electrical tests, and other agreed inspection items. Test results can be documented in inspection reports or videos and witnessed by the customer's representative or a third-party inspector.

Q: Are spare parts available, and how are they matched to the fan?

A: Bearings, dust seals, and impeller components can be supplied with the initial order or produced later. Parts are matched by fan model and factory serial number.

Q: What warranty is provided for the fan and motor assembly?

A: Warranty coverage for the fan assembly and motor is defined separately in the sales contract. Warranty claims require the fan serial number, operating data, and relevant photos.
